Stay local and seasonal
A great tip for keeping your costs down is to stay local and seasonal. Local florists offer great prices so start looking in your nearby towns. In addition, flowers that are out of season can be difficult and expensive to source. So stick to what is going to be in season and it will be much easier to stay in budget.
Big Blooms
Choose big blooms and you will need fewer flowers - simple as that! We love the idea of including peonies in your bouquet as the big bloom and surround these with smaller flowers and greenery. This option will work out more cost effective but still look stunning.
A professional florist will usually recommend choosing a few dramatic flowers rather than a larger quantity of cheaper blooms. Careful use of a dramatic vase can also go a long way in creating some show stopper table decorations.
Go green
Going green is a great alternative to flowers and is also very on trend! Use greenery to bulk out the displays and bouquets that you have, or go for a completely green and leafy display which can be really effective. This idea is especially easy if you are having an outside wedding or a woodland wedding theme.
Multipurpose flowers
There is no need to have different flowers for both the ceremony and reception. If logistically possible, move your ceremony flowers to the reception before anyone enters. In addition, your bridesmaid's bouquets are not used for very long, so why not use these in a vase as centerpieces for an alternative cheap wedding table decoration.
